The deck is finished! Well, not quite. The iron worker has had a dickens of a time getting all the railings to fit. I guess our deck is not square. Duh. Nothing in our house is square. You can drop a marble on some of the floors and it comes alive. Here are the pictures of the railings. We have Christmas lights on them which looks so festive at night. I may never take them off.

see that this is the only part that is unfinished
October 2009
There are lots of pictures – all taken within the past few years. There were no gardens or studio on this property 20 years ago. Because of 2008/9’s cold winter, a few wind storms, old age or bad placement, some plants have changed. It may be hard to get the idea of how this is laid out, but these pictures will give you an bit of a tour. I’ll add more when the railings are installed.

last winter's snow storm. I would take pictures and base the accumulation by the height of the snow on the chair
spring - the dogwoods at the base of the tree are barely showing their leaves

we lost that beautiful new zealand flax last winter - everything else is bigger

this pathway is to the right of the sculpture – also leading to the garden below.
There are four ways to get there unless you are a dog or a cat – then there are innumerable ways.

The second set of stone steps and the fire-pit that Ken and Alex built. Lots of good laughs around this pit. To the right is our vegetable garden - 17 x 27.5 (a golden rectangle). We just fenced it to keep out the critters. To the left is a huge raspberry patch with red & golden raspberries.
